Ah 20:20 Vision, one of the great bastions of house music, once again proving that they have few equals when it comes to being bang on the current button while never forgetting the need for dancefloor carnage nurtured at its Basics birthplace. This track first appeared on the late, lamented Classic label as a limited edition on its Ten series. Label supreme Ralph Lawson heard DJ Heather playing out the tune with the distinctive female hook and, after much effort, finally secured it for reissue, first on dotbleep with a Luke Solomon remix, now on 20:20 with dynamite new versions from Canadian minimal king Mike Shannon who’s been on any foremost stark and spaced label you care to mention. The track hinges around a funky slap-bass motif which is then drenched in early 90s NYC pads and an insistent, unearthly resoance. IN vocl and dub forms, it can’t be missed. And wait until you hear the upcoming stealth missile from Simon Baker.
