Great house tunes never die, and that’s just the way it should be.
Turntable Orchestra’s “You’re Gonna Miss Me” was a ‘first generation’ tune,
absolutely massive in it’s time, the epitome of the East Coast house vibe of
the late 80’s thanks to Hippie Torales marvelously understated production
skills. This offers two re-works from Bush II Bush, the best of which is
the Simple Bass Edit, highlighting the casual addictiveness of the original
song over cowbells, beats, and thrumming basstones. Unfortunately, it
doesn’t feature much of the piano, only really present on the XXL mix, and
annoyingly, this is the mix to avoid – long drawn out proggy builds,
pointless vocal reverbs and an out-of-place electro-tastic bassline.
Hopefully there’ll be some additional mixes to rectify this, but in the
meantime, stick with the Simple Bass Edit.
