Always a pleasure to get a Buzzin Fly in your mailbox especially if it’s coming from the studio of Lars Niekisch. ‘Voyager’ is a tight little progressive funk gem, sounding like a rare Yello/Prince dub track but with a solid futuristic percussion feel. The groove is simple but locks you to the dancefloor, while slipping in the haunting ‘take me home’ vocal and the filtered orchestral/calypso stab which builds the groove up but doesn’t overpower. It’s a dark number but with real funk power for those late late moments in the night, to take it even further deeper Chris Woodward rubs up a crisp tribal groove that seems to be the big boys favorite. Buzzin Fly don’t release anthems or radio dance fodder, just pure quality house music and we say thank you.
