The mothership album has already been frothed over here: an understated mature masterpiece of modern disco-soul which more than reminded me of later-period Chic. Now the sublime, NY house-tinged title track with its gorgeous vocal has been plucked out and stuffed full of top remixes. Unabombers uncork a snarling 303 for steamy acid house Vox and Dub mixes, Crazy P’s Ron Basejam ups the boogie quotient with guitar while his buddy Chris Todd’s Hot Toddy version plays the cool disco hand. Tom Taylor’s pair of treatments are remarkable, the vocal a twinkling slow burner draped in luscious strings – a perfect bed for the vocal, although the dub works as an outstanding slice of disco heaven in its own right. Finally, competition winner Saalim turns in a cool floater. What a package, missus!
