Bristol’s NRK returns from a year’s 12-inch absence with a luscious deep house groin-seducer from RicMcLelland, aka Scope. ‘This Rhythm’ builds on a traditional bongo groove which gets insidious as deep Detroit stabs and strings enter the fray, another dimension added by the sultry female spoken vocal. Remixes come from Florian Kruse and Nils Nurnberg stripping down to old school chi-style bass-line, before NRK A&R man Nick Harris whips out a tough, hypnotic turbo-bubbler, bolstering the dominant groove with strings and stabs.
