The mighty Dog has had a great year, sprouting an extra penis with pride at the streams of pure house gold gushing from its loins. This mysteriously-named artist is, unsurprisingly, already a fave with Derrick Carter, who can only see this label firmly in the tradition he kickstarted in the early 90s with Blue Cucharacha and Classic, meaning there‘s an underlying barely-suppressed wildness straining under the classic house elements like skipping funk grooves, swingingly testicular bass, jazzy flourishes and the piano riff action on ‘Post Modernism‘ [which gets an old school jack track remix from Sir Cosmic]. The EP’s name comes from the US police ten-code for animal carcass on the highway. The mysteriously-named artist? Chicago…New York…nope, Huddersfield! We need tackle like this.
