Back To Mine with Remii

An endlessly diverse figured within Oslo’s fertile electronic music scene, Remii is a producer whose sound veers between the club-friendly and the more introspective. Always unpredictable whether in the studio or behind the decks, he’s a regular at Jæger, arguably the city’s most renowned nightclub, but is equally comfortable in booths where a more commercial flourish is required. If you’ve encountered his latest release, Cruisin, out via Ivaylo’s always on-point Bogota Records, then you’ll be all too aware of this guys’ brilliant ability to mix things up. All things considered, he’s a pretty great candidate for a Back 2 Mine. Here’s what he picked when we got in touch with him recently…

1. Gap Band – Early in the morning

This one inspires me the most. When it comes to producing funk, this one is my reference.

2. Prince – Controversy

Another big inspiration. Im a huge Prince fan, and this is one of my favourite.

3. Jungle – Casio

Some new stuff , that sound retro that I enjoy allot, really laidback groovy and soulful.

4. Flytones – It Is What It Is

This some new funky and bumpy stuff. It’s a good track to drive to, on late summer nights.

5. Apollonia 6 – Sex Shooter

Prince produced this one. I remember I heard sa dj play this, and I was like wow, gotta have this one.

6. Bobby Brown – My Prerogative

The beginning of the new jack swing era. Im a sucker for new jack swing, and Teddy Riley is a genius.

7. Def Bond & Fafa Monteco – Such A Good Feelin

One of my first meetings with french house music. They sampled the group called Aurra from the 80s. Danced allot to this one and the original.

8. Todd Terje – Inspector Norse

This is a masterpiece. It makes you happy, and it makes you wanna dance like an idiot.

9. Omar & Zed Bias – Dancing

A groovy Afro house rhythm and a superb vocal. Keeps you dancing!

10. Dj Deeon – Gimme Head

Ghetto Tech at its best. This one is awesomely rude.
