Back To Mine with Freiboitar

1. Twin Shadow – Saturdays (feat. HAIM)

I first discovered Twin Shadow in the videogame GTA V. He was the DJ for the in-game radio station ‘Radio Mirror Park’. Becoming a DJ in GTA is just awesome. ‘Saturdays’ Is a nostalgic 80s glam rock, good vibes only song. It reminds me of my teenage years, when my older brother listened to heaps of glam rock and HAIM is symbolising pure girl power.

2. Junius Meyvant – Neon Experience

When you think of Iceland, I am sure you are thinking about snow, mountains, silence and endless landscapes… Junius Meyvant is from Iceland and he is doing everything differently. With a bag full of soul and funk, this song will give you this warm feeling you were searching for a long time. It reminds me of Gnarles Barkley and legend producer Danger Mouse.

3. Agoria – You Are Not Alone

Imagine you are coming home after a long party night with your friends. Everyone is still hyped from dancing all night long and the first song you are playing at your cozy home is ‘You Are Not Alone’, with its super fat bassline and catchy vocal. Agoria’s album was mixed in Paris at the legendary “Motorbass-Studio“ ran by Cassius legend Philippe Zdar.

4. Ghostface Killah, Kanye West, Ne-Yo – Back Like That

I am a huge fan of the Wu-Tang Clan and his members. I am actually totally into Soul, Funk and R&B music. Ghostface Killah nailed it with this one. The perfect fusion between Rap/Hip-Hop and R&B.  Actually, you wouldn’t expect Ne-Yo and Kanye West in this constellation. Together with Ghostface Killah they created one of the greatest R&B songs ever.

5. Sade – Kiss of Life

This song is such a beauty. Pure awesomeness in her voice with a great live band. I mean, we got Autumn over here in central Europe. Drink a hot tea by the fireplace and don’t get up from the couch anymore. This is pure quality time.

Sade - Kiss of Life (Lovers Live)

6. Snoop Dogg, BADBADNOTGOOD – Lavender (Nightfall Remix)

This is one of the most badass beats Snoop Dogg ever rapped on. I remember when we came home from a wild night and the whole squad was cripping to this song! You feel straight as if you’re sitting in a lowrider.

SNOOP DOGG - BADBADNOTGOOD - Lavender (Nightfall Remix)

7. Luther Ingram – Do You Think there’s A Chance

A pure classic. A voice full of soul, funky guitar licks and a walking bassline. I instantly fell in love when I first heard this song from 1977.

LUTHER INGRAM - DO YOU THINK THERES A CHANCE

8. Smith & Mudd – The Distance (Ron Basejam Remix)

I think this is one of my favourites from 2019. Ron Basejam did such a good job on the remix! It perfectly catches the 70s funk vibe with modern influences. Ron Basejam is the founder of the British band Crazy P and I am sure you can hear the influences in this song.

9. Bel – Ready To Die (Mudds Extended Mix)

This song is just beautiful. You instantly wishing you back to the beach, sundown, a cool drink in your hand, surrounded by your friends. It’s a mix between acoustic guitars, folk, kind of disco influences and a great voice.

Bel - Ready To Die (Mudd's Extended Mix)

10. Le Feste Antonacci – Mi Piace Lo Sport

This song is really unique. It’s Italian with a super exciting plot twist in the middle of the song. I would love to see your reactions, listening to this song.
