After Hours grooving….

BEE MASK
The first record I got of Bee Mask was ‘Elegy for beach Friday and it totally blew my mind. Its inspirational piece, industrial noise, tonal drone’s, elements of Throbbing Gristle’s more experiamental work. This is an earlier piece by the elusive artist.
KING TUBBY
Tubby was the master in my eyes, an engineer by trade and sonic artist in his own right. His hands on dubs are out of control, stripping things back to the minimum. The soundtrack to many dawns in my house.
JUSTIN MEYERS – ALBUTEROL AUTEUR
It was first listening to Meyers modular synth music that I started to develop the idea behind the Drone ambient series we’re putting together, refreshingly stunning.
69/CARL CRAIG LADIES AND GENTLEMAN (4 JAZZ FUNK CLASSICS)
Carl Craig’s 69 alias was the most inspirational set of electronic records to me as a dj and this record still sounds sick, machine funk, visceral techno.
HARMONIA – NOTRA DAME
Formed by various members of Cluster and Neu, Krautrocks first supergroup. Notra dame is just way ahead of its time, sounding like chamber music on strong pills then going into a blissed out Blade Runner esq mid section, amazing.
KRAFTWERK – RUCKSACK
I hunted for eons for the delay, the Echolette, that Kraftwerk used for Florians multi layered flute parts. I love when you listen to earlyKraftwerk you can see the seeds of later synth parts but played with instruments.
WOLFGANG RIECHMANN – ‘HIMMELBLAU’
The whole of this album is fantastic, sounding like the best of La Dusseldorf. Reichman was in Spirit’s of Sound with Kraftwerk’s WolfgangFlur and Michael Rother. He unfortunately never made another record after this after his tragic death. A track from this album is on myKrautrock compilation coming out next year on Hamburg’s Bureau B label.
MICHAEL BUNDT – THE BRAIN OF OSCAR PANIZZA
Far out, progressive electronic rock from the Cosmic Kid. This record always ends up on the turntable, wild stuff indeed. I’ve definitelyplayed this on repeat a few times…
GENE CLARK – POLLY
Country Soul’s where’s it at. If you want to be wrapped in a blanket of sadness and wallow it doesn’t come much better than Polly off the amazing ‘Fantastic Expeditions of Dillard and Clarke. The soundtrack to many a Fearless post clubbing night
MANUEL GOTTSCHING – E2-E4
One of the greatest pieces of electronic music ever made, a timeless classic.

Gamma Ray
Released Monday 18th August, 2014 (droneout.co.uk)
Brand new single from Death In Vegas frontman Richard Fearless on his Drone imprint. Debut single ‘Higher Electronic States’ premiered on Dummy, Ransom Noteand The Drone.
Welcome to the second aural outpouring from the world of Drone, the London-based label from producer, artist and Death In Vegas guiding light Richard Fearless, now firmly established as an artist in his own right. Earlier this summer Drone laid down its debut mandate in the form of Fearless’ own Higher Electronic States, which picked up plaudits from corners far and wide.
Discussing the second single Richard says “With Higher Electronic States I wanted to make a record to end my sets with, Gamma Ray is something much deeper. I wanted to create a timeless stark, minimal, desolate landscape of a track.”
And he’s done just that, creating one of those rare things in electronic music, a song with longevity. A piece of finely crafted techno of the highest order.
“It’s like an ice cold Radox bath drawn by Ashra and Omas S.” Nathan G Wilkins
To make matters all the more enticing he’s enlisted the supreme talent that is Legowelt to rework the track. Stripping it back further to its core elements this is pure heads music from Danny Wolfers, another extreme audiophile. The depth, texture and atmosphere he injects into the track completes what is an exceptional and significant second release from Drone.
“I feel like I’ve made the record that is true to this vision.”
Having recently taken part in an RBMA lecture in their Russian headquarters and an appearance at the hallowed turf of Golden Pudel planned for later in the year, the world of Richard Fearless and Drone is in its ascendancy.
Dancefloor distortion and other musical explorations, created in the Metal Box, Drone releases oscillations in many forms, further transmissions incoming.
