UK artist Sam Holland looks to connect Heart + Mind with his new label and inaugural ‘All Night Long’ EP. Holland has quickly emerged as a solo house artist to watch over the last two years. Love Unlimited Orchestra – Love’s Theme
Another one of my favourite records. This was one of the very first disco songs that went to #1 in the pop chart and broke out in the clubs because the radio would not touch it, proving the power of the DJ!
St Germain – Montego Bay Spleen
Another favourite artist of mine is St Germain, I even got the pleasure of seeing him live a few years ago in London. Montego Bay Spleen is the perfect record to put on after a long day at work. This record is from the album Tourist which again, is another fantastic album that can be played from start to finish.
Bobby Caldwell – What You Won’t Do For Love
Released in September 1978 – this song has been covered and sampled a number of times including by 2Pac in the 1988 hit ‘Do For Love’.
Elton John – Song For Guy
I love this song so much I had to learn it on the piano. This song was written and then named after Guy Burchett, a 17-year old messenger boy who died in a motorcycle accident at virtually the same time Elton was writing the song.

An absolute masterpiece. Nothing else I can really say about this song…
The Rolling Stones – Can’t You Hear Me Knocking
Mick Taylor was the lead guitarist for The Stones at the time. This was one of his earliest songs with the band – he replaced Brian Jones, who died in 1969. In 1979, Taylor said: “‘Can’t You Hear Me Knocking’ is one of my favorites. (The jam at the end) just happened by accident; that was never planned. Towards the end of the song I just felt like carrying on playing. Everybody was putting their instruments down, but the tape was still rolling and it sounded good, so everybody quickly picked up their instruments again and carried on playing. It just happened, and it was a one-take thing. A lot of people seem to really like that part.”
