DJ Pierre ‘Generate Power’ (Strictly Rhythm)
Memories of arriving in Las Vegas at 2am with good friends with this on the car stereo at high volume when DJ’ing in America. One of the all time great club records that still gets me with the build and relentless groove . First heard Andy Weatherall play this.

The Beach Boys ‘Pet Sounds’ (Capitol)
Innovative, full of some of the best sounds, melody and harmonies.

Prince ‘Controversy’ (Warner)
Went straight from a club to wait outside a record store at 3am to get tickets for his show. This track just packed energy and sexiness which typifies his music

Kraftwork ‘Autobahn’
I used to listen to this late at night when I was a kid playing around with the speed depending on my mood as it sounded good to me at both 33/45!

Talk to Her ‘Soundtrack to Pedro Almodovar film – Cucurrucucu’ performed by ‘Caetano Veloso’
I’m a big fan of soundtracks… I speak very little Spanish but the emotion is all there… a great thing about music.

Thriller ‘Michael Jackson’
What a pairing Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones were. Pop songs full of hooks, attitude and excitement Epic.

The Doors ‘The Doors’
A big Doors fan… made the pilgrimage to Jim Morrison’s gravestone at the age of 18. Truth in the music, crazy lyrics but ultimately very funky music.

Beck ‘Odaly’ (Geffen)
Truly talented Artist, performer and writer – open to all kinds of influences. This first got me into him… I see him in the Prince mould.

John Martyn ‘Couldn’t Love You More’ (One World-Island Records)
An unsung hero… Incredible lyrics. This track I have shared with my wife on many a long car journey. A must for any aspiring songwriter.

Elvis Presley ‘From Elvis in Memphis’ (RCA)
He was the first person who I got into. Having most of his albums by the age 11. No matter what the man was singing about he made you feel he felt and believed every word .
