Basswell has built a reputation as a master creator and selector of hard and fast ravey beats, with an evergrowing list of admirers including titans Amelie Lens, Dax J Shlømo and Kobosil. His powerful productions have imprinted upon the underground scene landing releases like ‘Bass Down Low’, ‘Around’ and ‘Hear The Sound’ on heavyweight labels Exhale and Color. This has seen Basswell take his sound to 22 different countries on the biggest stages in dance music for brands and venues including Fabrik Madrid, Maasilo, SWG3, Under Club and Verknipt just a few of many. He is firmly asserting himself in the upper echelons of techno and hard dance which are set to be cemented by plans to take his sound further afield with tours in new territories on the cards plus a tasty release schedule lined up for the rest of 2023.

Hello, Basswell welcome to the DMC World community and thank you for joining us – For those who may not know much about you, please tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have always loved music, especially the electronic style. my best memory is when i mixed on a turntable for the first time in my life at the age of 11
What were your earliest memories of music?
I started to make this kind of music when I was 18 years old after I moved to Lyon, because there is a very big techno scene in this city
How did you get into making electronic music – hard dance and techno in particular?
I love fashion, I have a lot of respect for great designers and unusual clothes. I like to invite my friends to my place in the evening to discuss, laugh and enjoy life.
What do you like to do when you’re not DJing or making hard and fast ravey beats?
I love fashion, I have a lot of respect for great designers and unusual clothes. I like to invite my friends to my place in the evening to discuss, laugh and enjoy life.
What has been your favourite moment in your music career so far?
My favourite time is when I go to play in Colombia, especially in Bogota. I love the culture and the joy of living and partying there
If you weren’t a DJ/producer what career would you have chosen instead?
I would have liked to work in fashion and design
Who would you love to collaborate with?
#74185 for sure, is unique. We have already released 2 tracks together and we will release more during the whole year 2023
Any music exclusives you can share with us?
This year my goal is to release 2 tracks/months. For our third featuring, “This Is War” will be released on 10.03 ft. 74185# and “Transmission” will be released on 24.03
