BluePaper

Following the critically acclaimed release of his five-part Elephant Rock EP in March 2022, burgeoning Saudi Arabian electronic music producer BluePaper now looks to expand on the early success of his debut release on WTR, as he delivers a double-sided remix package for two of the EP’s lead singles – Riyadh at Twilight and Elephant Rock.

Due for worldwide release on Friday, June 3, via MDLBEAST Records’ subsidiary label WTR – a home for organic, arabesque, electronic music – this latest record sees BluePaper welcome two new interpretations of tracks from the original EP – one from himself, and one from hotly-tipped British producer Rashid Ajami.

We caught up with the Saudi talent to discuss the remix package, life outside of music and his plans for the rest of the year…

Hi BluePaper and a very warm welcome to DMC World! How are you?

I’m doing great, what about you guys?

Great thanks! First things first, please can you introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m BluePaper, Electronic Dance Music DJ and Producer from Saudi Arabia.

How would you best describe your brand of electronic music?

EEE (Ethereal, Ethno and Experimental).

Congratulations on the recent release of your Elephant Rock EP. Can you tell us about that?

‘Elephant Rock’ the lead and opening track of the EP, was inspired by the majestic UNESCO heritage site of the same name; located at the west of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was the very first demo I sent to the MDL Beast label, and thankfully they loved it so much to the extent they asked if I was interested in turning the release into an EP rather than just a single. A kind gesture that led to the formation of this 5-Track EP with addition of ‘Riyadh At Twilight’, ‘Kingdom Green’, ‘Fearless’ and our 2022 update of ‘Thee Ain’ with Organic House phenomena, Maxxim.
You have a new remix package for the EP coming up on WTR. What can fans expect from this release?

The Remix suite aims to transcend the sounds of the well received ‘Elephant Rock’ EP into a different frontier, adding a further drive to it to make it more Club oriented.

Do you have any other releases on the label upcoming that you’d like to share with us?

Yes, two new records — ‘Sunsets in Marrakech’ and ‘XP’.

When did you become a music producer and what were you doing before you decided to make a leap into the world of music?

I actually work as a full-time banker and music has been always my passion in life; ever since I was a little kid. I’ve been working on music production modestly since 2009 (my GarageBand era) till finally made a full and serious transition to Logic Pro back in 2018, with my first release coming out early 2021.

What do you have coming up over the rest of 2022 that you can share?

Working on my first ever vocal track, in addition to a few projects and exciting collaborations that are in its early stage of development.

Any final words for our DMC World readers

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope we share a dance-floor soon.

Thanks for your time and we wish you all the best for 2021!

Thank you
