Interview by Dan Prince

Dude, a massive welcome back to DMCWORLD Magazine…where on planet earth are you today?

Hey Dan, I’m in LA right now but I’ll be heading to Mexico in a couple of days!

The best bit of new music you have heard since rolling out of bed?

Obviously my new track Bloodfire! And Views by Drake.

Well young man you have done it again! Your new track ‘Bloodfire’ is absolutely smashing it on dancefloors everywhere…and has just hit the top of the world famous DMC BUZZ Chart. Please talk us through the sound and history of the track…

Thanks! I wanted to switch gears towards a different style. Bloodfire does not have the usual progressive sounds. I wanted to create a banger that will be good for the festival season.

One of the things we love about you is that you do keep it real and do answer your fans on your social medias, most superstar DJs get their team to do it. Why is this important to you?

If it wasn’t for my fans and their support, I wouldn’t be able to do this! I do my own Twitter and Instagram because you can’t really let someone else control it, they are personal sites. People follow you there because they want to see the personal side of your live, not only the artistic one.

What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in your life and how did you overcome it?

I don’t ever look back on mistakes that I have probably made. We all make mistakes as humans and we grow and learn from them.

Which famous person would you most like to see play you in a film?

Brad Pitt!

What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?

I would say moving from Russia to LA to pursue my career in music. I left all my friends and family behind to live in a different country and different city. I now live in downtown LA in a really cool area. I get inspired by the people there and it changed my mentality and perspective.

What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of?

That I was able to make a living out of music.

Where are some of the big DJ dates in your diary you are looking forward to later this year?

The festival season is always great. I will be playing Amnesia in Ibiza which I’m really looking forward to and there are still a lot of cool dates coming up so stay tuned!

One piece of advice you can give to all the thousands of aspiring producers reading this wanting to follow in your footsteps…

Everything is going to be just fine if you truly love what you do. Great passion and hard work are the keys to being successful and happy at the same time.

Your best and worst festival moment ever?

I have played a lot of great festivals, so it’s difficult to say what my best festival moment was. EDC Las Vegas was by far the craziest festival show I have played.

A dream studio collab?

There are a lot of artists I would like to collaborate with. Right now Flume, Years & Years, Skrillex and The Weeknd are the first that pop up! Skrillex and Flume constantly push the boundaries of dance music so that people aren’t stuck in the same genre for another 10 years. I like that.

And finally, what is coming out next from you studio wise?

I’m working on a lot of things right now. I want to rediscover myself as an artist and see where I can go next!
