Piemont – Teaser – (Lapsus Music)

Piemont are non-stop hit making machines. The German duo run a number of labels and turn out a dizzying amount of music. Their latest is a meaty EP featuring four great originals as well as remixes by Tucci and Timid boy. It is the latest in a very long and fine line of standout releases from the boys.

Opener Sad To Think is a bubbling tech cut with lithe bass and rich kicks. A vocal sample has been well worn before now but still sounds great when packaged with Piemont slick sounds. Next is the title track, a deeper number with itchy hi hats and moody piano chords that really enrich the groove with some true school feels. All You Got then comes on strong with pained vocals, a wobbly bassline and spraying synths that are pained and perfect. Holy is the final original and is the most playful of the lot, with tooting synths and distant police sirens all adding to the vibe. Tucci remixes All You Got with a heavy, thumping drum groove and Timid Boy then flips Holy into something just as energetic and catchy but with a more broken beat. Once again then this is a fine release from Lapsus.
