What does a typical day in the studio look like for Scribbles Who?
I recorded Satisfaction at Patchwerk in Atlanta, GA but I’ve been recording from home lately. I’m in project mode so waking up, working out, and recording has been the vibe.

What was the inspiration behind your latest track ”Satisfaction”?
Nights in Africa 🙂 Ghana and Cape Town have amazing nightlife, so I am definitely inspired by the energy of the people in those places.

How was it like working with the collaborators on ”Satisfaction”?
Satisfaction was produced by NOYDB, a producer that I have been working with for years. So it is like working with family.

How would you describe your own development as an artist and the transition towards your own sound?
I wrote songs for other people before I started releasing music for myself. Working with so many different artists allowed me to dip into most of the genres in the diaspora.

What is it about music and/or sound that drew you to it?
It’s the way I express myself most easily. Writing songs comes so naturally to me, it feels very right.

What or who were your early passions and influences?
I’m inspired by Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, Beyonce, and Brandy. I’m also inspired by Sia and I’ve been listening to alot of Tems and SZA lately.

It is remarkable, in a way, that we have arrived in the 21st century with the basic concept of music still intact. Do you have a vision of music, an idea of what music could be beyond its current form?
I love that producers continue to experiment with different sounds and blends. I see R&B meshing more with Afrobeats and Amapiano and I am very excited to see it.

It’s coming this Spring – the perfect season for lovers and friends. It will be filled with alot of passion and more songs about one of God’s greatest gifts; love.
