Your latest single, “Disco Heart,” is an ode to Berlin. Can you tell us about your relationship with the city and how it influences your music?

TC: It’s the city we grew up in and experienced musically, so the sound of the song is very influenced by that.

“Disco Heart” explores themes of chasing highs and getting lost along the way. What personal experiences or moments in your lives inspired this track?

TC: We both watched the movie “Tron” a week before we had the session – this movie inspired us to write “Disco Heart”.

Berlin is known for its vibrant music scene. How has the city shaped the sound and direction of twocolors over the years?

TC: Berlin influenced our sound a lot. We both grew up listening to DJs like Paul Kalkbrenner, Oliver Koletzki and Jonas Mantey, who are all from Berlin. What makes the Berlin sound so special is that it sounds electric but still has real instrument influences.

You recently released a club-focused track, “FEARLESS.” How does this track compare to your previous work in terms of style and vibe?

TC: It’s the Berlin sound, or what we understand it to be. “TC/TC” – the dark side of “twocolors”. You can feel how people go crazy when we play “TC/TC” tracks live. This is why it is so important to us to show the dark side of “twocolors” that allows us to fully express ourselves in terms of sound.

With over 5 million monthly listeners, you’ve clearly made a huge impact on global streaming platforms. How do you stay connected with your fans on such a massive scale?

TC: We take our fans on our journey via social media and live shows and share with them what twocolors is all about.

Your remix of The Cardigans’ “Lovefool” became a huge hit. What was the process like for reworking such a beloved classic?

TC: We actually don’t consider it a remix, haha, it’s a reinterpretation (cover) of the song since we changed the lyrics a bit and it’s different chords.
We always wanted to do a cover since we started making music. We both know the song from our childhood. And our label gave us the opportunity to work on a cover. It was a very long and difficult process, but it was definitely worth it!

You’ve also remixed songs for major artists like Imagine Dragons, Black Eyed Peas, and Shakira. What is your approach to remixing a song? Do you try to stay true to the original, or do you completely reinvent it?

TC: It’s always different. Sometimes we try to remix the song into a live club song, and other times we try to tweak the original with the remix.

With hits like “Bloodstream,” “Feel It 2,” and “Heavy Metal Love,” you’ve amassed over 370 million streams. How do you maintain a balance between staying true to your sound and evolving with the trends of electronic music?

TC: Of course, we always listen to what’s trending, but we don’t want to chase after every trend. We’ve found our sound and we’re proud of it, as not many electronic artists have that. Our sound comes naturally to our songs, it’s never forced.

As artists, how do you navigate the pressures of constantly releasing new music while maintaining the authenticity and creativity that your fans love?

TC: We think it’s harder to create new music when we’re playing live – we’ve noticed it this year.

Of course you feel pressure, but you can’t let it affect you, otherwise it will affect the music and quality.

Looking ahead, what can we expect from twocolors in the next year? Are there any new collaborations, projects, or sounds you’re excited to explore?

TC:  We will definitely release more music next year! There will be a lot of remixes and more features. We’ll be playing a lot of festivals and then of course we have our own twocolors tour in 2025!
