Kerri Chandler – Atmospheric Beats

This record has the power to transport my mind to a time and place that I have never physically visited and always elevates my mood and makes me wanna dance.

Kerri Chandler - Atmospheric Beats (Original Extented Version)

A Tribe Called Quest – Electric Relaxation

I often listen to this record to get me in a relaxed state of mind. The sample is perfect and they always deliver with their lyrics and to me its a timeless classic that’s still so listenable decades on.

Electric Relaxation

Tame Impala – Is It True

As captivated by this track the hundredth time listening to it as the first time. Not quite sure why but this record really resonates with my brain and I get huge enjoyment from it.

Dr Dre & Snoop Dogg – Lil’ Ghetto Boy

Probably my most listened to song of all time. As a big fan of east coast rap, no one in my opinion did it better than are and snoop and this track perfectly captures everything from this golden era of rap.

Souls Of Mischief – 93 Till Infinity

My all time favourite hip hop song, love the lyrics and especially the beat. The whole album takes me back to my child hood and the producers featured on the album are second to none. The sampling is a massive inspiration and I learned so much from this album. Hard to pick one song off the album in all honesty.

General Levy – Incredible

My most played song ever and all time number 1. Full of energy from the vocals to the beat, will never fail to make me dance and go nuts, always gives me goose bumps, especially seeing the general perform it live. Still bangs to this day and needs to be played at my funeral.

M Beat feat General Levy Incredible

Busta Rhymes – Gimme Some More

90s too early 2000s is peak Busta rhymes, he has more lyrical tracks, even from his time in the group ‘leaders of the new school”. This track is quick, explosive and fun, and always goes off in the clubs with the catchy hook line.

Wu Tang Clan – Protect Ya Neck

Wu Tang Clan wasn’t just a group it was a movement, a way of life. Raw, rough and ready at all times. Their back story is inspirational and this track perfectly reflects what they’re about. My all time favourite rap group, if you know hip hop then you know wu tang. They changed the game and there will never be another rap group like them… kings.

Rage Against The Machine – People Of The Sun

Great opening track to a great album, and my favourite album of theirs. Could have picked ‘killing in the name of’ or ‘bulls on parade’, but I felt that was too cliché. Everyone knows their most famous songs but no one talks about this song or album ‘Evil empire”. One of the best front men and by far one of the best and most creative guitarists. Their beats and lyrics grab me and also get me pumped up when I work out in the gym. Aggressive and in your face music, with a deeper meaning on what’s going on around the world.
