The Best Of 2012
“This is what club music is all about; a synergy between the body, mind, and soul as the music resonates throughout…”
The Tunes
Beat Service – Fortuna
KhoMha – The Dark Knight
W&W – Shotgun
The Festival
Sunrise Festival in Poland
Poland has always been one of my favorite destinations to play in, so it’s no surprise that their biggest festival would be a hot destination for me.
Club of the year
Webster Hall, New York
This year it has to be the infamous Webster Hall in NYC. It’s such a historic venue and was actually was the first nightclub ever in the US. To have a few sold out shows here, with an amazing vibe, what else could one ask for?
Producer of the year
KhoMha
The heavy hitting KhoMha. Everything this kid makes is incredible and from what I’ve heard, it’s only the beginning! The other notable name would be W&W. The Dutch duo rarely make anything other than absolute club bombs. Most of their records are heavily in my rotation
The Hero
My dad, for taking on the battle with cancer with a smile on his face and hope in his eyes
The Breakthrough Artist
Andrew Rayel
Going from a zero to a hero in a short few months, he deserves his props. I wish him continued success!
The Prediction For 2013
My prediction is that the music genres that just burst on the scene (dub, trouse) will take a bit of a back seat in the global market. With a huge copy cat syndrome plaguing both, production and DJ sets wise, people are getting bored of it. I suspect that something with more depth and originality will break through in the next year or two
