Back To Mine With AndThen

Taking his early inspiration from artists such as Nic Fanciulli and Matthias Tanzmann, UK-based DJ/producer AndThen has steadily built his percussion-driven sound and gained support from artists such as Jamie Jones, Paco Osuna and Blond:ish. Having made his Adesso Music debut last summer, with further music dropping via Yousef’s Circus Recordings, he returns to the label with his latest single, ‘Salsa’. DMCWorld goes back to Mine with AndThen.

1 The Sabres of Paradise – Smokebelch II (Beatless Mix)

This track reminds of an amazing summer I had before moving away to university. I had started to DJ in clubs about this time as well. Since Andrew Weatherall’s passing I have gone back and appreciated all the bits of music he was involved in, as I took it for granted.

2 Womack & Womack – Teardrops

I’ve loved this track since I was a kid and it hasn’t aged and I still listen to it regularly. I wasn’t a fan of the garage remix, let me put that out there!

3 David Holmes – The Ballad Of Sarah And Jack

This one is a bit personal. It reminds me of when I was driving back from hospital when my boys were just born and I was listening to Guy Garvey on the radio. The sunset came up and this song came on. I listen to this all the time. Amazing bit of music.

4 Aphex Twin – Windowlicker

Well this is a turn of pace. Ha ha. The video for this is amazing and this song never gets old, one of Aphex Twin’s best tracks for me.

5 Kings Of Tomorrow – Finally (Original Extended Mix)

One of the best house tracks ever written and made. Reminds me of so many great nights.

6 Soul II Soul – Keep On Movin’

I’ve been a fan of Soul II Soul for years and saw them for the first time 3 years ago. They were amazing.

7 LTJ Bukem – Journey Inwards

This whole album is a master piece. It’s so underrated. Bukem is a genius anyway but to do this jazzy drum and bass, electronic album is amazing. If you listen to it try and do the whole album in order.

8 Gorillaz – On Melancholy Hill

This track reminds me of my mate Billy making me listen to the new Gorillaz album a few times after a few shandies. It was also near the time I moved away from Cardiff so reminds me of those times.

9 Daryl Hall & John Oates – I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)

Again, another song that was way ahead of its time. I still play a remix of this.

10 Lionel Richie – My Destiny

This is a bit of an in joke song which my longest mates will get. It’s a brilliant song which comes out at all the parties with my mates, Michael make sure it gets played.
