Cleo Sol – Sunshine
This song has such sentimental value to me. The lyrics, the percussion, the feel and the voice just transport me and truly brings me back down to earth with a feeling of peace and gratitude. The song takes me back to being home by the ocean in the sun – everything about it makes me smile.
Sade – Your Love Is King
The moment this song starts I feel warm and light. It’s so romantic, heartfelt and pure. The lyrics are so raw and honest the percussion makes me want to dance and the solos are incredible. Sade is my biggest inspiration at the moment.
Chronixx – Never Give Up
I love Chronixx I think he’s brilliant and such a good lyricist. Each song he delivers is so different and unique in its own way but they all are so effective because they’re done with such intention and thought.
Kraak & Smaak – So Clear
The very simplicity of this song is what makes me never get sick of it. Anytime I want to switch off and vibe I will put this on. It fits any setting and always slaps. I love Kraak & Smaak.
Rita Lee – Chega Mais
My best friends and I love this song – it makes us get up and dance every time. It has such an infectious groove and Rita Lee is an icon. I smile every time it comes on and my dad always plays it when he has a set and he knows I am going (he’s a DJ).
The Spinners – I’ll Be Around
I want to get married listening to this song. It has the most raw romantic old soul feeling.
The Emotions – You’re The Best
My dad and I love this song. One of the reasons I wanted to be a disco artist. Music that has so much soul that you just have to get up and dance.
Roy Hargrove – Strasbourg / St. Denis
I love jazz, I believe this is what my voice suits the best and where I feel most comfort singing – jazz & blues warm my soul. This song encompasses how interesting, fun, playful and happy jazz can be.
J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Mr Eazi – COMO UN BEBE
I grew up listening to Reggaeton in Portugal and it’s definitely my go to when I am getting ready for a night out, it’s so fun and I love dancing to this genre.
Kali Uchis (feat. Don Toliver) – Fantasy
I love pop and RnB (I love everything lol) but this song for me is such a good balance between everything that makes pop fun and the way the mixing as been done makes the song so big and playful. I love the vocal layering!! Kali is such a wonderful example of how you can introduce two languages in a song and still make it an international hit.
