The princess of Pikes was so bloody good this summer
Record of the summer
Chart crossover – Calvin Harris & Disciples – How Deep Is Your Love (ear worm – can’t stop singing it)
Gregory Porter – Liquid Spirit (Claptone)
…and underground – Michel Cleis & Klement Bonelli – Marvinello – Ego
Party of the year
Sadly limited social life due to work days / evenings but this year it was an equal tie break between Harvey’s ‘Mercury Rising’ at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes Hotel on Mondays, Glitterbox at Space on Fridays, Zoo Project on Saturdays and Heart on Sundays. And of course Rock Nights at Ibiza Rocks House at Pikes on Wednesdays….
DJ performance of the summer
Ben UFO, Hunee & Evan Baggs closing the Treehouse stage with a spectacular first time back-to-back at the Zoo Project – both mind bending and mind blowing. Loved every second.
Grudge of the summer in Ibiza 2015
The back to back frenzy that doesn’t work consistently enough and the ‘same DJs, different club’ syndrome which admittedly doesn’t affect weekenders but is very limiting when you are here for a fortnight or live here. Also too much techno.
Breakthrough DJ of the Ibiza season
Davina Moss
Best club night promotion / marketing of the summer
The Zoo Project
An old tune you pulled out of the bag that went down a storm
Warren G – Regulate
Archie Bell & The Drells – Where Will You Go When The Party’s Over
Larry Heard & Mr White – The Sun Can’t Compare
Turntable Orchestra – You’re Gonna Miss Me
And finally – another summer destination that rocked this year
Lincoln??? The Jaymo and Andy’s Lost Village Festival was pretty special…
