Stalwart of the London underground dance music scene from rare groove to house music, Roy The Roach teams up with fellow DJ brother, Jazzi Q to launch a new monthly Sunday gathering, Quintessential House on Bank Holiday May 5th at Shoreditch’s Folklore. Founder of one of the earliest multi-room raves, Dance Wicked in the late 80’s, Roy also played for Gilles Peterson at the legendary Dingwalls “Sunday Sessions” as well as being behind the legendary Soho record shop, Quaff Records. Alongside this Roy has maintained a solid presence on radio for the last 30 years with shows on WBLS, Kiss FM, Mi-Soul and now monthly from 10-12pm on the first Friday of every month with his ‘Jazz in the House’ sessions (in tribute to Phil Asher) on Totallywired Radio.
