A Walk On The Wild Side
Fancy

Three months in and gathering pace. London’s new dressing up spectacle ‘Fancy’ return to the O2 Shepherds Bush in London on Saturday May 1st with a ‘Rock Your Shades’ launch for Teenage Cancer Trust, a very worthy cause. Plans are afoot behind the scenes regarding trying to beat a Guinness World Record in fancy dress, details on that as they roll in. Tonight however it’s all about the usual brilliance of a Fancy event and supporting a very worthy cause, bring your shades and donate a quid on the door, bingo! The May event will also see Fancy welcoming back the hugely popular Silent Social.com to the Balcony Room, where guests will be provided with headphones playing two different channels of music. As one of the most popular new trends rippling through UK nightlife, Silent Social.com combines hi-end technology with the notion of old fashioned disco giving a unique musical sensory experience. Broadcasting two channels simultaneously, it gives each user the choice of either channel, perfect for ‘dance offs’ DJ competitions or the sheer novelty of watching half a room silently do the ‘YMCA’ whilst the other half goes mad to techno!

On stage uber entertainer, Beat ä Maxx mixes turntablism with state-of-the-art video technology and mashes together the biggest tunes, film, and TV clips. With his exclusive video remixes and ingenious video scratching, Maxx  is pushing video DJing to the limit, as he gets the Fancy Main Floor bustin’ moves ‘n shapes.

The monthly Fancy event encourages people to shed their existing life and normal nine to five persona for a more exciting alter ego for one night only. Ranging from film and TV characters, Fancy has embraced in the past people dressed up as the Madhatter from Alice In Wonderland; a giant Prawn; male nuns; Mr Burns from The Simpsons;  Avatar  and Adam Ant. Every month the most creative and imaginative outfit on the night wins a £250 prize. See you there, not that you’ll recognise me.
