Mr Erick Morillo steps up to talk about his residency details at Pacha in 2009, Ibiza.
So Erick, we have spoken before on DMC, tell us about why clubbing is so important to us all and what’s the reason with the tag name ‘BAD’ for your night in Ibiza this year…
“Well at the end of the day, when you go to a club you go there to lose yourself. You go there to escape. It’s about letting go of your stresses, being ‘BAD’ on the dancefloor. My night Subliminal is about being ‘BAD’!’
So why the name ‘BAD’?
“If you’re the kinda person who has always been the receiver of gold stars for good behavior, always eaten their greens and get 8 hours sleep a night… well maybe you should stay away from Erick Morillo, Pacha and Subliminal. Wednesdays at Ibiza’s finest venue is arguably the world’s most glamorous club. The atmosphere, music, girls, setting… it’s incredible. The dancers are just irresistible, celebrities everywhere, Subliminal has an enthralling vibe- it is one of the most alluring parties on the island. In fact, sexy is is at the basis of Erick’s philosophy! For me, it’s really important as a DJ and Event Organiser for it all to be sexy. Beautiful girls, beautiful people, fantastic people – that’s what makes a great party Dan.”

“Thank you. This is our 8th year and we have a whole host of international guests. Myself and Steve Angello who is just on fire at the moment gets going on June 3rd with appearances from the likes of Dubfire, M.A.N.D.Y., Dirty South, Mark Knight, Annie Mac and Funkagenda. Subliminal has a varied and exciting line-up for every one of its 18 summer dates.”

“Yes Dan, showcasing some of the DJs that originally inspired myself. The people I consider the ‘Godfathers of House’. I have invited Little Louie Vega and Frankie Knuckles to join myself behind the decks. And as always veterans Harry Choo Choo Romero, Jose Nunez and Richard Grey add their Subliminal flavour to my Wednesday nights. Also look out for Australia’s finest export the Sneaky Sound System who will be making 5 appearances throughout the summer in the Global Room. Can’t wait. Oh, watch out for my new album Subliminal Session Summer 09 out on June 10th.
