DJ Switch To Play Braindrop’s Biggest Party Yet…

What would the DMC World Champion do when faced with a crowd of 1200 bass-hungry ravers?

On Friday 27 February Braindrop moves to London’s historic Scala for their biggest party yet. 2008 DMC Battle for Supremacy world champ DJ Switch gears up to unleash an exclusive showcase at the capital’s most eclectic rave night – and teach the Braindrop crowd a thing or two about the art of turntablism.

The reigning world champion is pitched against boundary breaking turntablist team The McMash Clan, breaks legends Aquasky and voodoo-rave demon Drums of Death. Elsewhere Planet Mu’s electronica genius Milanese, D&B superstar Current Value and dubstep visionary Reso head the rest of a massively diverse line-up.

Repping the hip hop side of things will be Switch’s long time beat-boxing collaborator Bass6, as well as Dub FX, DJ Shorty, Kingpin and MC Angel.

We asked Switch for his thoughts on the night: “I’ve had the pleasure of doing gigs with Kingpin and Bass6, as well as The McMash Clan themselves – so I’ll be looking forward to seeing them again. I’m particularly looking forward to checking out Aquasky.” As for his set, “expect a mix of D&B, breaks, hip hop and house – and full on turntablist skills you’re not likely to catch anywhere else”

Despite only being the tender age of 20, Switch’s technical flare and boisterous showmanship have already won him numerous DMC titles – including 1 world and 2 nationals. His success has taken him all over Europe, and to countries as far flung as China and the USA.

Since its birth in 2005, London based night Braindrop has rapidly expanded through word of mouth, a roster of exciting home grown artists and the reputation of its good vibes carnival atmosphere.

“The Ridiculous Bubble of Rinse” now prepares to bring its Bass, Joy, Fun, Happiness ethos to a wider audience than ever before, and set the standard for a new era of eclectic, friendly and spectacularly bass-heavy London clubbing. Do not miss.
