East Berliner Alfred Heinrichs serves up some melodic magic on his new EP for Kuukou. His two fresh new cuts come with remixes by label head Simina Grigoriu and mysterious techno duo The YellowHeads.
Opener Mini Me is a supple cut with lithe bass and twinkling synths. When it gets down to business the drums roll forward and are vast, rubber things that get you moving. Dreamcatcher is a heavier cut with more bounce on the drums but just as much menace in the synths. The label boss flips this one by layering in wobbly bass that makes it more fun and unusual, and The YelloHeads inject darkness with freaky vocal filters and edgy, grainy percussion. Warehouse techno never sounded better.
