In which DJ Format brings together funk and psychedelia, to often incendiary effect. This is a great compilation to put on as a poser to your mates, but also to wig out to with complete abandon. You’ll find gems such as 49th Blue Streak’s cover of the Jimi Hendrix classic ‘Foxy Lady’, or the utter brilliance of the blaring horns on Bana Pop Band’s ‘Jet Pop’. ‘The Shaman’s Dance’, from Aleksandr Sergeyevich Zatsepin, rattles its chains, while the clipped beat and call to arms of The Tijuana Brats’ ‘Karate Chop’ are a great combination. The track selection consistently hits the bullseye on music that is too busy having a good time to notice who is listening. Format wishes he could play these tracks at clubs every weekend, but now you can too if you’re so inclined!
