Riva Starr and Snatch! Records present their compilation for this year’s BPM festival, and it’s a winner. You only have to look at the leading players giving it support on their Soundcloud page to know it’s well worth hearing – after all, the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Groove Armada, Green Velvet and Wally Lopez are rarely wrong. Among the rolling bass and solid beats are the excellent tech-house of Joe Red & Kostha’s ‘Vladimir’, the really classy house vibe of A.S.R.’s ‘At The Club’, with elastic bass to match, Muirdel’s springy ‘The Rebellion’ and, going deeper, Allen & Filix’s ‘Upstarter’. Topping them all off, though, is Daniel Dubb & Jonathan Rosa’s ‘No Sleep’, a brilliant piece of noise trickery.
