As far as modern house music goes, Mother Recordings is right up there with the best of them. It puts out a steady stream of music that comes from a wide array of artists. Next up is the Berlin based Swiss born David Keno with two more sleek productions that will stoke any and all dance floor fires.
The pick here is Youth, an incendiary cut that grows with sweeping filters, a repeated vocal riff and sci fi melodies as well as a big drop and fat dollops of face melting bass. It’s a kicking tune that is full of charm and colour. On the flip, Play is a bit deeper, with chunky hits and freaky machine stabs all working you into a lather. It is polished production that has plenty of little clever tricks and ticks to ensure it is as energetic as possible. Overall then this is another essential outing for Keno and Mother.
