JONATHAN KRISP
SCALEXTRICK
COOKSHOP

Traditional cut-up and pasted back together beats from Brighton’s Cookshop Records courtesy Mr Krisp. Two knowledgeable types discuss the merits of scalextric over a funky 70’s blaxpo’ styled backing, generating enough enthusiasm to make you want to get those plastic figure of eights laid out all over again.  Musically, it’s well put together, familiar enough for instant head nod factor, and never content to settle into loop and groove mode, so the attention is never lost.  Will find friends amongst those who favour back-room funk or want to break up their set a little.  The additional track, “Paris In Winter”, is a cold and mellow affair of the heart, proof the guy’s got soul as well as funk.
