Golly, it’s the arrival of another record that’s either made by J-Dilla or someone loosely associated with the late emcee/producer. Actually, to be fair this EP doesn’t reference Dilla explicitly, and is pretty good fare. Ta’Raach & Invincible’s ‘Bombs Away’ comes through with crunchy guitar stabs and heavy drums, before Invincible goes solo on ‘Place Where We Dwell’, an interesting re-work of Gang Starr’s same-name classic. We’re treated to Tiombe Lockhart’s lovely voice on ‘O Bloody Days’, before Wajeed beefs the package up with three instrumentals, ranging from the electronic ‘Tron’ to the James Brown-inspired ‘Proud’. All in all, this is one value-for-money release.
