Regular readers will know what a huge fan I am of Kris Menace and his German recording home – has this man ever released a bad track? I think not, and with the help of Joe And Will Ask? pairing is another no-brainer. (Not quite sure why they have to have a question mark after their name? – he asks inquisitively) JAWA?, best known for their Kitsune single ‘Fabric Of Win’, offer a new ingredient to KM’s usual crystalline electronica productions. Together ‘Dewdrops’ blends a fortified French-funk foundation with a near-anthemic set of chords, more akin in trance circles. But it’s a strong combination already winning support as varied as Sasha, Boy 8-Bit, David Guetta and Axwell. In other KM news we hear Kris is currently recording three album projects: the first a collaboration with KoweSix from Moonbootica under the alias Black Van (the debut single will be released on DFA); his second ‘Love On Laserdisc’ is out now and his first Kris Menace album ‘proper’ will follow in time for summer.
