Nowadays ranking in LL & Meth’s school of media darlings releasing new music as a bonus rather than a priority, Snoop’s pimp parody of beatdowns, bossing, weed and newfound female appreciation remains hot news. Executive producers, the take-em-or-leave-em Neptunes, manage the usual melange of top dogs and young pups, appearances with Bootsy Collins, Fiddy and Timberlake, one obscenely crunk Lil Jon head-buster, the unfeasibly naff ‘Fresh Pair of Panties On’ and all the dope and dross in between. Business as usual really, even if ‘Masterpiece’ is pushing it a bit.
