Cockney gangster jazz kneecapping any Mr Chombees (cosmic freak-out Gadget Funk is the sole instance of the hatchet man kicking off his steel toe-caps), Jake, Ollie & co pull you into the backstreets, have you looking down the barrel of a double bass and jut sawn-off horns and xylophones into your lugholes as femme fatales pour you large glasses of good vintages. Old tag-teamer Jean Grae is in super form, and Cappo (“Gerrard with the ball at his feet”) and Roots Manuva put the finishing touches to a ruthlessly good knees-up from the Big Smoke.
