Coming out on the highly respected Dropzone Records out of Scotland this new EP from The Mantis Chapter is well worth checking for if you like that original ‘Brit-Core’ style of Hip-Hop. As the title suggests, it’s on a deep mystical tip a little like early nineties UK Rap recorded in a grave yard! Yeh, its spooky atmospherics and deep basslines with fast rolling raps delivered very professionally and very lyrical. Production remains tight through-out, but the ‘Back 2 The Battle’ featuring Tekneek and Geta really gets the EP to a brilliant start. Next up is ‘Eastern Mystics’ which again drops deep with gentle musicalities and hard hitting rhymes. The other stand-out track is ‘The Witchin’ featuring Dropzone Records head-honcho and Scotland’s number one rapper Eastborn. Eastborn spits with ounces of experience making this track something of a real Scottish/English rhyme-fest! Make sure you try and search this out and future releases on Dropzone.
