BABOUL HAIR CUTTIN’ FEAT. SCALDE
DIFFERENT/PIAS

Sebastien Devaud’s second single from his fearlessly diverse new album  ‘The Green Armchair’ was originally a spikey, bleepy electro-popper with vocals from fellow Frenchman Scalde. But it’s the two remixes which catapult the tune into the realms of dancefloor destruction. Matt Edwards can do no wrong at the moment and his Radio Slave tweak-feast hoists a minimal throbscape which builds quite magnificently in his signature style of hallucinogenic whoopee. Sao Paulo’s Gui Boratto turns in a deep house monster-a total transformation with its ringing riff, bottomless pads and gliding riffs conjuring up something of an early Strictly Rhythm vibe and, if anything, a more comfortable bed for the vocals. Both these treatments are absolute corkers.
