You know when a record brings the sun out? Yeah that. Alex Newell’s pipes are of the classic house diva variety whilst the melody is a classic soulful house sunbeam.Todd Terry drops his beats like an anvil from a foundry roof, heavy, determined, definite then add some Salsoul disco strings attitude and some funky, fresh filtering and you have the sort of radio, club and bar ready cut that makes girls (and guys) indiscriminately lip sync and dance in a circle. It kicks some serious ass. Further mixes from Bobby Blanco (growling, chunky late nighter), MAIZE (piano rave ftw) and Carlos Gallardo (mediterranean sounding, percussive production that wouldn’t be out of place on a Matinée / El Row dancefloor) and you have a De Lorean special that makes any dancefloor jump like it’s Miami WMC 1996-2000 beach party all over again. Happy and clappy package.
