Chicago’s Anthony Nicholson’s two outstanding tracks which form this release are a precursor to his forthcoming long player, ‘Life, Rhythm and Lessons’ and if these are anything to go for you’ll want it on your list. ‘Ahh Sabu’ works best with its fiery Latin rhythms and vocal touches backed up by an old school bassline, emotive chords and swirling synths. But that’s not to say ‘All Over’ doesn’t work quite as effectively as the mood music with its funky arrangement and cut-up voices does so captivatingly.
