Lost My Dog

Great label, Lost My Dog. Not just the name either. As purveyors of the finest deep house they’re up there with 2020, just more underground independent with less of a live profile. Orlando’s Atnarko [co-owner of the Eight-Tracks label and Q-Burns collaborator] makes his label artist debut with a subterranean excursion which meets the mole’s bell-end eye-to-eye. The promise he displayed remixing L.M.D.’s recent Daniel Kyo and Nonfiction outings is more than lived up to as ‘Wrapped’, boasting vocals by Liz Bowman, creates a lovely vibe going deep, simple and atmosphereic. ‘Doom Doom’ adds subtle acid while ‘Know It’ hits another gorgeously-hypnotic plateau with budgies on stilts carrying out organ-pecking duties. Then it transpired he’s worked with the legendary Huggy, also now living in Florida, and it all becomes an even bigger family. Might be a recession but proper house music is booming worldwide.
