The sun won’t shine and MP’s lie and deceive but one thing you can always trust for a summer dance smash is the mighty Basement Jaxx, back in time for festival season is ‘Raindrops’ (predicting a wet summer?) full of everything we love from the Brixton collective. A sweet blend of hooky lyrics infused with their multi cultural production and thumpin bass and guitar that’s sure to score high on the radio while keeping the dancefloor well in check.
The secret star for me is the Funkagenda & Paul Thomas remix that rips up the floor with its driving nrg bassline while sliding subtle disco stabs and vox into the show. We then hit the brakes and freefall into the breakdown chorus, which reminds us it,’s still the Jaxx track so behave. Plenty of dancefloor love and thought went into this and should be a solid weapon this summer in your collection.
