Never a more apt message as The Equals with front man Eddie Grant’s 1970 race statement resurfaces three decades on – producers Paul Simpson and Keith Thompson, along with mixers DJ Romain, Tom Moulton and DJ Smash, add their own stamp to the Vietnam protest song. Funky in the main with ska riffs and a percussive underbelly this is sterling work by all involved deserving of wider recognition.
