Bo Saris – She’s On Fire – (Deram)

Every now and then I hear a record that stops me dead in my tracks like a beagle when it’s got that scent of ‘Eau de fox’. This is onesuch foxy track. If you like Pharrell, Sam Smith, Lewis Taylor, Maverick Sabre and that ilk of male soulful vocalists then this one if most certainl for you. Avenue deliver the straight up radio mix with a funky, squashy late 7às / 80s sounding electro soul workout that is bound for non stop, global radio rotation. On the club side, Wankelmut rewires the r n b soul vocal cut for a burbling, bass and live drums-driven booty wiggler that will remind you to do exactly what club dancefloors are created for. It’s gonna make you dance and sweat mofos ! If your arms aren’t in the air, whilst you’re clapping like a waterpark seal or if you’re not foot stomping like a grape treader by the halfway mark then I will eat the nearest donkey’s beach hat. Karma Kid ups the tempo for a jubilant and swirling musical dervish that will intoxicate you with its overproof vocal. Lazrjet go for the beach house and hammock or five star hotel soundtrack jugular with a lazy yet deadly funky groove. If you love soulful music and underground house, then Bo Saris together with this phalanx of a-list producers is going to make you dance like your feet are on fire. Great record. It’s a hit too.
