I have a soft spot for the peak time shenanigans of Carl Tricks: he really knows how to exploit that twisted groove and certainly ‘Rock On’ demonstrates this perfectly. It’s melodic, wonky and boisterous, then morphs into a proper chant off with enough rave breaks and drum and bass swagger to keep every gurner’s facial muscles in top gymnastic form. What’s not to love about a record that’s full of fun from beginning to end? Rock on. Rave Hard.
