With a UK top 10 album and 11 crossover singles her name, Cecelia Peniston will always be remembered for her debut, ‘Finally’, that peaked a position shy off the chart’s summit in 1992. The former Miss Black Arizona released a trio of albums, performed at the Presidential Inauguration of Bill Clinton, at the Vatican for the late Pope John Paul and also made history when she became the first female artist to perform in South Africa following the end of apartheid. Not bad, eh’ And now in the capable hands of Ron Carroll she’s back with a soulful offering full of retro-goodness.
