We always have a soft spot for a bit of idiot disco and this one is killer, sounding not unlike the bastard love child of Lips Inc & Rex The Dog. Tricked out laptop geekiness is the order of the day as a string of remixers get their hands dirty on this slab of robotic techno funk. “Shinichi Osawa’s Distortion Disco Edit” sounds pretty much like you would expect – tacky synth disco put through the blender and infused with a healthy dose of vitamins. The original is a little looser, and not quite so pumped up to the max, but this works in it’s favour; providing a mix that may hang around in your record box for sometime, waiting for the moment you feel it’s time to cause an outbreak of punk pogoing madness.
