Clio spreads his wings a little wider with a four track techno heavy ep for Riva Starr’s Snatch Off! Imprint. ‘Voodoo’ is a pounding techno/rave concrete breaker with a time stretched vocal that creates its own special magic. ‘Fantasy’ is a rattling excursion with a Joyce Muniz sounding sample, skittering beats and some wobbly loose joints. ‘Someone’ works karate chop beats and some dark rolling keys and percussion into a snippet of Stevie Wonder ‘For Once In My Life’. ‘Style Wars’ closes the EP with an sombre toned k-hole of an organ melody that sucks you in and refuses to spit you out.
It’s moody and dark but I like it and it’s all good in the mix.
