Crookers Feat. Miike Snow
Remedy
Southern Fried

Alarmingly sophisticated electro-pop from Crookers, nudged along expertly by the vocals from Miike Snow, who add depth with an oddly introverted feeling yet uplifting song.  Crookers do what they do best, namely mutant riffology battling it out with electro beats and spray on rave era nostalgia.  Surprisingly it all hangs together better than that description would suggest, creating a decent pop song with some hefty club attitude to boot.  Plenty of remixes, naturally – Cassius strips it back to the obvious electro influences for a more underground outing; Numan serves up a wonderful slo-mo electronica version that sounds like a lost Ninja Tune outing circa 1997; Alex Kid gives some straight up mainstream house that keeps the song intact; leaving Magik Johnson to get a bit dirty with a stadium house rocker that twists chunky riffs in and out of the vocals.  Could well become a festival favourite – bodes well for Crookers soon-to-drop album too.
