‘Thunder Lightning Strike’ caused quite a kerfuffle on it’s release in 2004, going on to sell 250k and gaining a Mercury Music Prize nomination. So it’s been a few years coming, mainly due to non stop breathtaking live shows, but The Go! Team are most definitely back, and ‘Proof Of Youth’ keeps their distinctive party vibe well and truly swinging. Opening with the excellent singles ‘Grip Like A Vice’ and ‘Doing It Right’, straight off you know you’re in for a hip shaking treat. ‘Titanic Vandalism’ gets heavy with the horn riffs, laying them on trashy rhythms with mounting chaos. ‘Fake ID’ is post punk Sesame Street, and ‘Keys To The City’ has got a certain amount of Latin charm in amongst the joyous crash bang wallop! ‘Proof Of Youth’ is The Go! Team doing the do (again).
