EINMUSIK
JITTERY HERITAGE
ITALIC/NEBULA

Hot on German import for months the celestial grace of ‘Jittery Heritage’ can’t fail to make you take notice. Certainly more inspiring than the lethargic click house with no life or emotion that’s currently cluttering record racks, this catchy instrumental is in a league of its own. Under the Einmusik moniker DJs Cranque and Unique with producer Nicol have produced a proper cross-over hit à la ‘Zombie Nation’. Originally out on underground Cologne label Italic, it’s now about to land in the mainstream clubs the world over. Don’t expect anything excessively original though, this bomb takes you to another spiritual level out of sheer musicality. Uplifting?
Church-like? Yes, ‘Jittery Heritage’ is basically a classical chord progression played by machines, a concept that takes you back to early nineties trance, when that wasn’t such a contrived (insulting?) label. The structure is dead simple: housey beats and deep organ stabs start things off, then the wonderful synth line and the electro b-line creep in, only to disappears briefly to come back in the main breakdown accompanied by electronic breakbeats (124 BPM). There are some remixes from the likes of Martin Eyerer, Ego Express and Dominik Eulberg but you better forget about them straight away as unfortunately cool names don’t always equal playable remixes. Why waste valuable budget on re-interpretations that won’t bring much to the equation when you have such a beauty in your hands? As the saying goes: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
